Graphic LCD screens are flat-panel displays composed of a grid of individually controllable pixels. Unlike character LCDs limited to predefined symbols, graphic LCDs allow the rendering of arbitrary shapes, images, charts, and complex user interfaces by controlling each pixel's state (on/off or grayscale levels). They are typically monochrome (e.g., STN, FSTN --- offering shades of blue/gray/yellow/green on a background) but can also be grayscale.

Resistive Touchscreen LCD is a touch technology display screen that uses pressure sensing for operation, and is one of the earliest and most common touch solutions. It recognizes the touch location by the physical pressure generated by the user pressing the screen with a finger, pen, or other object.

Color TFT-LCD uses thin film transistors to generate voltage to control the liquid crystal steering display. It consists of a glass plate with a thin film field effect transistor matrix circuit and a glass plate with a color filter. Liquid crystal is poured between the two glass plates. Each pixel in the display is divided by the horizontal and vertical common metal wires of the thin film transistor matrix circuit. Each pixel contains a thin film field effect transistor and a capacitor. This capacitor is composed of an indium tin oxide (ITO) transparent electrode in the matrix circuit and a common ITO electrode on the color filter. The liquid crystal sandwiched between the two electrodes acts as a dielectric in the capacitor.
