The performance and service life of LCD display modules are closely related to the correct usage and storage methods. The following elaborates on the core points from two major dimensions: usage precautions and storage precautions, in combination with key factors such as electrical, mechanical, and environmental aspects:
The use of LCD display modules should avoid electrical overload, mechanical damage and environmental interference, and at the same time follow the operation specifications.
1. Electrical parameters: Strictly adhere to the rated range to avoid burning out components
The driving circuit of the LCD module (such as the driving IC and the backlight board) is sensitive to voltage and current, and must be operated strictly in accordance with the parameters specified in the data-sheet.
2. Mechanical operation: External force squeezing is strictly prohibited to prevent structural damage
The liquid crystal layer and polarizer of the LCD panel are fragile. Mechanical damage can directly lead to display abnormalities (such as leakage, bright lines, and black screen).
3. Backlight lifespan control
The backlight (LED or CCFL) is a vulnerable component of the LCD module, with a typical lifespan of 20,000 to 50,000 hours (LED is longer). When in use, it is necessary to avoid the backlight working at full brightness for a long time (the brightness can be adjusted according to the ambient light, such as 50%-70% during the day and 30%-50% at night). If the module is not used for a long time (such as more than 1 hour), it is recommended to turn off the backlight (only keep the logic power supply, which will consume less power).
Storage Precautions
1. Environmental conditions
Temperature: It should be stored at room temperature and in a dry environment. The recommended conditions are a temperature range of 10° C to 30° C, a humidity below 60%RH, and to avoid direct sunlight. It should be stored in a dark place in an anti-static bag or box.
Moisture-proofing: A humid environment is the Nemesis of electronic products, which can cause oxidation of pins and internal moisture, leading to short circuits when powered on. For long-term storage, it is recommended to place desiccants in the packaging and use moisture-proof cabinets.
2. Storage period
Liquid crystal modules are not recommended to be "stockpiled" or stored for an extremely long time. Even if the conditions are perfect, the chemical materials inside it (such as liquid crystal, polarizing film, glue) will age slowly over time.
